As a LOCAL DISCOVERY Super Administrator, do you back up your cases on a regular basis? I, for one, can say that it’s one best practice I implement routinely, especially for large matters.
As a former Summation iBlaze user, I remember the days when I had to back up the cases I was working on every single day, and sometimes, multiple times a day. For me, it’s a process that’s ingrained, kind of like clicking

When running a production in OPEN DISCOVERY, you may need to create a Placeholder Image for documents that are being produced natively. If that’s the case, the Placeholder Image needs to be created from within the Case Management Module before the production is run. Let’s review the steps.
Upon selecting Case Settings from the needed Processing Case within the Case Management Module,

Yep, you heard that right: the ability to Quality Control ingested data has now been added to the Processing Module with the release of LOCAL DISCOVERY version 2023.8.0. This long-awaited feature gives users the ability to fix issues that occur after data has been ingested natively. Keywords in OPEN DISCOVERY give users the ability to define lists of search terms (including words, phrases, or expressions) and immediately find documents containing those key terms. Keyword searching assists with document review and is a basic text search of all indexed fields.
If you’ve taken a gander at Keyword Management within the Review & Transcripts module lately, you may have noticed how diff

Have you ever had the need to Pin a Column to the Results Grid in OPEN DISCOVERY? I know I have! Like the Freeze Pane function in Excel, the ability to Pin a Column is helpful when the need arises to scroll through only certain columns in the grid while keeping others set to the left or the right side. Lucky for us, an option now exists for doing exactly that.

My favorite feature in LOCAL DISCOVERY is the Tally feature. While LOCAL DISCOVERY may not have all the bells and whistles of analytics like OPEN DISCOVERY, Tally can get you a long way in figuring out what you have in your database, what your timelines look like, and how to tackle your review.
The Tally feature in LOCAL allows you to select a column (such as Custodian) and total up the records you have for each custodian.

“OMG!?! My wrist is killing me!” Has this thought ever crept into your head while linking exhibits in your transcript? I mean, we likely say this when it comes to redacting, but hyperlinking?!? If your transcript marks a never-ending list of exhibits or simply just needs a lot of references, you don’t need to manually insert every link, one by one: Instead, use an alias! Not aliens, alias.
In TRIAL DIRECTOR, aliases allow you to link a doc
