How to Decide Between Self-Guided Courses or Webinars

By Kelly Lyons, IPRO Learning Experience Team

When you first visit the Learning Center, one of the first things you may notice is the wide array of training types to choose from. IPRO recognizes that there is no single instructional style that will work best for every person and situation as everyone learns differently. We have developed our offerings accordingly, creating self-guided courses, and webinars to serve our customers’ needs. Although you might wonder what each kind of instruction entails at first, and you may be stumped on which option will work best for you or your colleagues, have no fear! The quick rundown below will provide you with the essential information you need to choose the option that works best for you, whether you determine to proceed with a particular training type or whether you ultimately choose to mix-and-match.

Self-Guided Courses and Learning Paths

Just as their name implies, self-guided courses and learning paths allow you to complete lessons independently, on your own time, and at your own pace. This added flexibility is a major benefit for many learners. You can squeeze in a lesson during those spare ten minutes at the end of the workday, or you can knock out a whole path in one afternoon. You can complete self-guided courses and paths from any internet-connected device, making the learning process simple and easily accessible. Moreover, these courses can be paused and later resumed at any time. The Learning Center will autosave your progress, allowing you to pick up exactly where you started from! Just keep in mind that courses do expire 60 days after the registration date. Self-guided courses can be purchased individually for $150 per person. Alternatively, you can purchase an entire user certification path for only $300 per person. Paths include several courses covering the essentials you’ll need when using the product. They also end with a User Certification Exam, allowing you to demonstrate your proficiency in the software to your company and to any prospective employers.

Some students may find that webinars combine the best of both worlds, offering the freedom of self-guided training while simultaneously providing the style and structure of a live session. Webinars are recordings of past live trainings. They can be paused and later restarted at any time prior to the expiration date (again 60 days after registration). Getting Started webinars can be purchased for $300 per person, while Administrator-level webinars cost $500 per person. Administrator-level webinars even have the added bonus of serving as a prerequisite for Administrator certification! All these benefits can be achieved from the convenience of your living room whenever you have a spare moment.

IPRO knows how important it is to accommodate different learning styles and needs, and we have gone the extra mile to offer several diverse and high-quality options to meet that challenge. Between self-guided instruction, and webinars, we are confident that the Learning Center will provide a resource to help you meet your goals!
