  1. Hi Manuel, Thank you for reaching out to us on this! This is a general .NET framework error, and we can help narrow down the possible cause. First, can you please try a repair operation on the .NET framework for this machine? This often resolves the problem. You may need to repair the 4.7 framework as well as the 3.5.X framework, depending on your OS version. The link below is for Microsoft's .NET Repair Tool which may be helpful: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 If that doesn't resolve it, is Eclipse being presented through Citrix, or are the users ac

  4. When trying to start either Eclipse or ADD Web, users may encounter an IIS error page which prints the error message "Version string portion was too short or too long" along with a lengthy stack trace. This error message typically indicates that the authorization service is either not online, or cannot be reached by the component in question. First check to ensure that your authorization service is running, and that no firewall is blocking access to it. By default, the authorization service operates on port 9800, but another port may have been selected during setup. If the authorization

  6. Hi Stephen, You're correct, the issue in question is resolved in a subsequent release. For some additional information, you should actually be able to set this permission and have it operate as expected -- it just will appear to be incorrect if you go back to the permissions screen afterwards. That is to say, setting the permission saves properly in the database, but editing the existing permissions does not show this setting at the correct position later. This can be somewhat confusing, of course, so we recommend upgrading when possible in order to resolve this issue. Thanks!

  8. I absolutely agree with Jeff -- in most circumstances, before overlaying images into a case, you should check to see if the documents in question already have images, and typically you will want to delete them. This will prevent situations where images are duplicated because of differences in page suffixes. It is also a good idea to see if documents contain images already before submitting these documents for an Enterprise Imaging job. Because the image results returned from Enterprise Imaging are inserted into a case in the same manner as performing an import, documents which already conta

  10. Hi Jeff, I was unable to locate any information about a timeframe for adding AD users to ADD. At present time, AD users can be added via the Administration functions in Eclipse Web, and those users can be configured within ADD. I have submitted a feature request on your behalf for the ability to add AD users via the ADD interface, however, and you will be updated by the product team when they have any additional details regarding this feature. Thanks! Gus

  12. This is a very good bit of input, Jeff: it's not at all uncommon for us to assist users who are getting inaccurate results because their search terms weren't grouped by brackets to evaluate the way they wanted. I'm personally in the habit of bracketing any dtSearch string which uses more than one operator.

  14. Thanks Jeff -- this is great input. Any time the email header information is not directly extracted from an email item (for instance, if the text is extracted from a PDF or MHT representation of an email, or if it is obtained from OCR), problems may be encountered during email threading. It is important to note, though, that the contents of the ExtractedText field in Eclipse is what is sent to CAAT for processing -- so if you have populated the ExtractedText field with the original extracted text for the document, you should typically expect good results, even if the document natives were expo
