After installing Eclipse SE, I received the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" when I logged in.

1. This issue occurs due to an issue within Windows 10 related to User Access Control (UAC). To ensure UAC is turned off, do the following:

Open the registry

Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Modify Key EnableLUA

Set it to 0

Restart

Reinstall Eclipse SE

2. Issue could be related to the System Directory not being a UNC path.

Share the drive where the Eclipse SE resides

Configure the System Directory as a UNC path upon login of Eclipse SE Admin..
