Key Field Search

Why does SE desktop require an operator to search by key field? I found no blank or null option in the operator field when simply trying to search by Bates or DocID - thus forcing the use of an operator and returning invalid results. Thanks in advance.

SE desktop advanced search uses Boolean methods for searching, and does require an operator. If you would like to search for a specific Begdoc number there are 2 ways to do this, outside of advanced search.

1. You can index the Begdoc field from the administrator module, make sure that the field has been indexed, and use the quick search to find a specific number

fetch?filedataid=409&type=thumb

2. You can also use the "ImageKey" search function from the grid: fetch?filedataid=408&type=thumb

to search for a single begdoc.

Please let us know if these options will work for you.

Thank you,
