Expanding File Size after Bates Numbering

Hi,

We processed about 7 GBs worth of PDF data for a client. We imported the PDFs, processed and bates numbered the pages (roughly 31,000 pgs).

When we exported the PDFs with bates numbers and OCR, our output size had expanded to nearly 33 GBs.

Has anyone else experienced this before, or know why the size is so much greater than the initial data?

Any advise or experience would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Tom

Just to add further on Tyson's reply, you need to check your settings at 2 levels, while processing & export. A lot of times PDF files contain huge drawings, when they are processed with "As Is" settings for color and page size, they turn out to be huge jpeg files in terms of resolution and size. This could significantly increase your size of export.

In past I had received a processing request from a client to process everything in TRUE COLOR. The data was just a single small PST of 1.98 GB. I tried to convince the client it would not be advisable to do everything in color, but in vain. The resultant deliverable was 28.89 GB.
