Upgrading to 2017.x.x -- Installation is interrupted error!

The new installers for versions 2017.0.0 and 2017.0.1 of eScan-IT may encounter an error when upgrading eScan-IT. That is, if a previous version of eScan-IT is installed, and you are running the installer over your current installation.The error may happen during the validation of the current install.

 

NOTE: When performing this workflow, please document the Client ID and Serial Number that is used with your installation before uninstalling. This information can be found within the Ipro Authorization Manager (if you open eScan-IT, go to Admin > Manage Licenses and Usage).

 

Please follow the steps below to install the latest release if you are receiving the error:

  1. Completely uninstall the version of eScan-IT that is installed on your computer. This can be done by going to the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features > right clicking eScan-IT, and selecting 'Uninstall'.
  2. Once the uninstall has finished, then run the new installer.
  3. You may be prompted upon installation to select whether the machine is a single user or multi-user installation. If single user, you will need to input the Client ID and Serial Number.
  4. Confirm the installation has completed, then click Finish,
