Christene
I set a page limit of 750 but the software continued to print a document of 1010 pages, then stopped printing because the document exceeded the 750 page limit. The entire batch stopped processing and I had to restart the application. This caused a very unwelcomed delay in the project. When I set a page limit, is it normal for eScanIt to go beyond that limit?

Escalation Engineer Brandi Terrazas Posted March 10, 2017 Escalation Engineer Share Posted March 10, 2017 Hi Christene, what version of eScan-it are you currently using? Where did you set the limit? It is not normal for eScan-it to go beyond the limit.

Guest Christian Lafferty
Hello! I just tested the Ipro eScanIT ‘Page Threshold’ option in our latest version (2017.0.1) with success. The count was honored and the application did not stop processing. If you continue to see any issues with Ipro eScanIT please do not hesitate to contact the Ipro Support Team for immediate help with our application. I have included a few details below on how the eScanIT page threshold setting works in a ‘nut-shell’ – I hope it helps! Ipro eScanIT projects can have a ‘Page Threshold’ value set if you want Ipro to bypass larger files and insert a placeholder image for that document’s record. What we do when calculating page counts varies depending on the file type. Certain file types contain information that can be used prior to processing (like Adobe PDF) And other files will need to be submitted to the Windows Print Spooler directly for the document page count calculation to be gathered and checked against the threshold value in the project. (like Office family) The current version of eScanIT will start to spool those Office docs using the settings setup by the operator until the final page count is gathered within the black ice print spooler – then the print is terminated and the placeholder inserted for that document. I do recall older versions of eScanIT that would require the full document to be completely spooled first before the page threshold placeholder was inserted for that record. Can you confirm what version you are running? If you are seeing the crashing behavior continuously or page threshold values exceeded unexpectedly it might help to reach out to support to have someone look into that. Thanks Christene! support@iprotech.com (877) 324-4776 or (602) 324-4780 https://iprotech.com/resources/ipro-support/
