Production Errors

Hello,

In an attempt to understand the variety of error messages that can appear when running a production, I am making this post to document the errors that can appear, as well as the typical cause.

Here are a few errors that I have encountered so far:

Error converting document: DOC00001. Error: Unsupported format

This error occurs because the selected file has a native that is NOT on the list of supported native file types for Eclipse SE. For more information on supported file types, please reference the 'Ipro Eclipse SE 2017.3.4 Support Native File Formats' PDF on MyIpro.IproTech.com.

Error converting document: DOC00002. ERROR: Page info not available from Converted Image File. ....

This error typically is caused by a file that generates an image file that is not complete, usually because the native file it is converting from does not convert correctly to an image using our third party imaging tool.

Error converting document: DOC00003. ERROR: Converted Image File is a ZERO Byte length. This usually occurs from an unsupported file type. .

Some files can appear as a normal file type (DOC, DOCX, XLS, etc.) but the file formatting does not match that of a normal supported document. When we recognize file types, we use OutsideIn Stellent (a third-party utility created by Oracle) to detect the file type based on file formatting (not the file extension). When imaging, the software will check the file by using OutsideIn Stellent and this can try to convert the file, but the output image contains no data, creating a ZERO byte length on disk.

Error converting document: DOC00004. Error: Unable to open document ...

These errors do not always have a clear cause for the issue, however, I have seen this come out of an issue regarding a particular native file (the file is open on the backend, and it cannot open the document for imaging) or the file is corrupted.

Error converting document: DOC00005. Error: Unable to export document .......

Similar to the previous (unable to open document), this is another error that occurs during file interaction, but when saving the file to the output directory. The cause can be with related to an imaging process that failed (similar to the errors before), but the issue did not present until saving. Could be related to file naming options as well.

Please feel free to add to this post with any errors you encounter, as well as your experience for the cause.

DOC000006 Unable to convert image stream to internal image.

Seems to happen with large PDF files (>5 MB), even though the PDF viewer on my system can open it, as well as the Windows preview pane.
